Small Footprint, Serious Impact: 3m x 6m Commercial Shed in Monument
Not every commercial space needs to be oversized to be effective. This 3m x 6m long shed proves that a compact footprint can still deliver serious functionality for business use. Whether it’s for secure storage, a small workshop, or operational equipment, this custom design makes smart use of every square metre.
With a 2.6m lowest eave height and an 11-degree roof pitch, the structure offers practical internal clearance while maintaining a clean streamlined profile. The horizontal M-Panel cladding gives it a modern, architectural finish – something a little more refined than your standard shed. Finished entirely in ColorBond Monument, this shed carries a bold, professional look that suits commercial environments perfectly. The dark, contemporary tone gives it a presence without overpowering the surrounding site. Built tough and purpose driven, this small commercial shed is ideal for businesses needing secure, durable storage without sacrificing style. It’s proof that when designed right, even a compact shed can make a strong impact. The break-down of the shed is as follows:
- Shed: 3m wide and 6m long
- 1 Roller Door at 2.2 metres high and 2.51 wide allowing an approx. height clearance of 2.2 metres
- 1 personal access door in the colour Monument to allow easy side access without having to open up the roller door
- Barges, Roller Door and Windows all finished in ColorBond Monument
Do I need Council Approval to build a Shed in NSW?
In NSW, if you require council approval depends on a few factors such as the size, shed location and what you will be using the structure for. Many smaller, standard sheds can be built without council approval while larger or more complex structures may require council approval. Generally speaking, if your build meets the below conditions, it could meet exemptions and won’t need approval, remembering that every council across Australia builds and approves to a different set of rules. We can assist with the council process and advise accordingly.
You generally don’t need council approval if:
- The build floor area is 20 square meters or less
- It is no higher than 3 metres above grand level
- It is set back at least 900mm from the property boundaries
- It is not located in front of the house
- The build is for domestic purposes
- It doesn’t have any living areas or bathrooms
- The property exists under a residential zone
- There are no heritage or environmental restrictions on the site
